What is Perplexity?

Perplexity is an AI answer engine that searches the web and replies with cited sources, and also offers the Comet browser. A free plan covers everyday search; Perplexity Pro ($17/month billed annually) adds deep research and model choice, and Max ($167/month billed annually or $200/month) raises limits further. It suits people who want answers they can check against sources. On 4 Nov 2026 Perplexity launched Teammates: always-on personal agents for complex, ongoing work inside Perplexity Computer (initially on the web; iOS soon). They plan and coordinate projects, monitor follow-through, can join Slack for handoffs, run in separate environments, and connect plugins such as Slack, GitHub or Gmail. Teammates are for Perplexity Max subscribers; Free and Pro users can upgrade from Settings. Teammate work uses Max Computer credits after any promo.
